UPDATED 5/28/2020 MESSAGE FROM FR ARIEL ROBLES, ADMINISTRATOR, ST JAMES CHURCH

We continue to livestream Mass on Sundays at 10AM to bring the Holy Mass to every home. The state and the bishop have recently allowed "in-car" public gatherings, and so those who want to receive communion, may want to drive up to our parking lot and view the livestreaming Mass from their smartphones. After Mass, the priests and ministers will go out to the parking lot to distribute communion to people in their car. But this is not obligatory. Even if you don't receive the physical Host, you may still receive Jesus through "spiritual communion" during the livestreaming Mass while staying at home. Furthermore, you may also recall that the bishop has granted dispensation from the Sunday obligation to those who cannot attend Mass.

For those who will decide to attend the livestreaming Mass in the parking lot, please consider the following:

  1. There will be two points of entrance, the big and small gates on Peter's Place.
  2. Red Bank Police and the Knights of Columbus will be there to assist us.
  3. Park on EVEN-NUMBER SLOT only (car distancing).
  4. Carefully PARK IN THE REVERSE so that it would be easier and safer to leave at the end of Mass.
  5. Please, stay inside the car for the entire duration of the celebration (unless you urgently need to do otherwise).
  6. Communion will be distributed after Mass at the three exits (two on Peter's place and one by the nun's convent), as you leave the parking lot.
  7. The Knights of Columbus will direct cars during communion, please wait for their signal.
  8. To receive communion, WEAR MASK, RECEIVE USING YOUR HANDS, QUICKLY REMOVE MASK, AND CONSUME THE HOST BEFORE DRIVING OFF.
  9.  Those who don't have smartphone capability to view the livestreaming mass, may want to park closer to the glass chapel to take advantage of the big speakers the church has set up at the parking lot.
  10. Thank you very much for your cooperation. See you soon.

outsidechurchWELCOME BACK HOME!
The Church doors are re-opening for private prayer only starting Wednesday, May 13th, Feast of Our Lady of Fatima. The church is open from 8AM to 1 PM, Monday to Saturday. There is NO Mass yet until further notice. We are required to wear masks, maintain social distancing, and limit ourselves inside the church to no more than 10 people at a time. The bathroom will remain closed. The only entry is the front door from Broad St. Everyone is requested to exit the side door by the Blessed Mother's altar. One-way movement helps to maintain social distancing.

Welcome back! Praise God!!

CORONA(ANTI)VIRUS PRAYER

prayinghandsJesus Christ, you traveled through towns and villages “curing every disease and illness.” At your command, the sick were made well. Come to our aid now, in the midst of the global spread of the coronavirus, that we may experience your healing love. Heal those who are sick with the virus. May they regain their strength and health through quality medical care. Heal us from our fear, which prevents nations from working together and neighbors from helping one another.

Carry in your arms those who have died from the virus, and bring them Home. Be with the families of those who are sick or have died. May they know your peace.

Be with the doctors, nurses, researchers and all medical professionals who put themselves at risk in serving the sick. May they know your protection and peace.

Be with the leaders of all nations. Give them the foresight to act with charity and true concern for the well-being of the people they are meant to serve. Give them the wisdom to invest in long-term solutions that will help prepare for or prevent future outbreaks.

O Lord Jesus Christ, stay with us as we endure and mourn, persist and prepare. In place of our anxiety, give us your peace.

Jesus Christ, heal us. Amen

welcome
